A trifle is a traditional British dessert created by layering pieces of moist cake, velvety custard or whipped cream, and fresh fruit - usually assembled in a large trifle bowl. This fresh twist allows for individual servings, and the recipe can be multiplied!

Make your vanilla pudding according to the package directions.
Whipped Cream
Add the cold heavy whipping cream, sugar, and pure vanilla extract into a cold mixing bowl.
Whisk with a handheld or machine mixer until stiff peaks form.

Assembling the Trifle
Begin by layering vanilla cake along the bottom of a stemless wine glass.
Next, spoon your vanilla pudding over the cubed cake pieces.
Add a layer of strawberries on top of the vanilla pudding. I like to use halved strawberries to fill between layers of cake and pudding. To create a pretty design on your trifle, use slivered strawberries to line the outside of the bowl.
Repeat steps 1-3 until you reach the top of the wine glass.
Top with freshly-made whipped cream.
Proceed to fill the other wine glasses with the same process.
Admire your finished product before savoring the deliciousness!
