Ingredients
- Vanilla Cake. Click the link to find tons of helpful pointers for making an incredible vanilla cake for your trifle.
- Vanilla Pudding. You can, of course, make vanilla pudding from scratch, but I've opted for instant pudding because there's something about it that is so reminiscent of childhood!
- Pure vanilla extract for a rich vanilla flavor. I use Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract from Vanilla Blossom Flavours - you can use the code BBB2021 to receive 15% off of your order!
- Slivered and halved strawberries. For this recipe, I like to use halved strawberries to fill between layers of cake and pudding. To create a pretty design on your trifle, use slivered strawberries to line the outside of the bowl.
- Whipped Cream. I like to make this fresh, but you can use canned if you are short on time!
FAQ
Keep your trifle in the refrigerator covered loosely with plastic wrap.
Trifle is best when eaten right away. It will keep for up to 2-3 days in the fridge, however as the trifle gets older the cake will absorb the pudding more and more and become very soggy.
Absolutely! I've opted for instant pudding to save time and because I truly love the flavour, but if you love homemade vanilla pudding you can absolutely substitute it!
Absolutely! Fill your trifle with any fruits you like. Personally, my favorite fruits to add to trifle are strawberries, blueberries, mangos and raspberries.
